In The Ear Hearing Aids are smaller, filling only the bottom half of the external ear. The hearing aids are fairly discreet and cannot be seen when face to face with the wearer unless the viewer looks directly into the user’s ears. ITEs are easy to handle and can give the user easy access to controls. The style and size of the ITE will be determined by the size and shape of the ear as it contains a custom-made casing that fits into the outer ear. Like BTEs, these are suited for mild to severe hearing loss though ITEs are slightly more expensive than BTEs of similar functionality since these have to be custom-fitted.
